What this site offers |
Who Are We?
Radless
is an Internet-based mountain biking group. We are not a club.
We're more like a highly structured anarchy where everyone has equal
power for good and evil. |
Where
Are We?Radless is designed to be National in scope
but local in character. Radless was started in Southern California
but is now spreading throughout the country. As a member, you view
the information from you state only.
Of course, you can always browse to
other states at any time by changing
your preferences. Anyone, from anywhere, is welcome to join and ride with us. We
have some members from Illinois, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and England! |
Radless
MembershipWe are
not a club. Just a group of riders. You can join us by filling out our membership
application. People join all the time. Some don't ride much, some ride a
lot. It doesn't matter.
Riders of every ability go on our rides.
We break up into skill and endurance groupings but we usually
regroup along the trail. Our rides tend to be fun-oriented and
social. You will get a good workout, but you won't come home dead
... usually. Even if you suck
as a ride, we want you! There are plenty of
beginners. Come on out and join everyone else.
You'll only getter better and people will start to like you. |
HistoryRadless was founded in 1995 by four
individuals. John Maguire, Diane Barriman, Diana Karg, and Chris Palmer.
They started riding together every weekend. One day, John said, "Hey, you
guys are boring... we need to meet more people." And so the quest
began to drag others into the mix. John wondered to himself, "If I build it, will
they come?" The first Radless web site went public in
1996. The answer was yes. People from all over the globe
flocked to join Radless, the only truly free mountain biking site.
The rest is history. Today, Radless spans all 50 states, 114
countries and several of the moons of the outer planets (Saturn,
Jupiter, and Neptune). Look for grand openings on Venus
(like Death Valley, CA) and Mars (similar to Moab, UT). |

My
Radless
We try to make this site, your site.
In the "My Radless" section, we keep track of all your rides, allow you to post your club
photos and create a gallery of your own photographs.
|
Scheduled rides
Radless
is unique in
that we not only offer official, weekly scheduled rides but we allow our members to
schedule and post rides that fit their schedules into our calendar. Looking for some
to ride with a 5:00 AM on Tuesdays? You might find a couple of people willing to
join you if you post your ride. |
Trail & Park InformationWe are dedicated to becoming the most informative site on
the Internet, at least when it comes to rides in our own neighborhoods. Toward this
end, we are working to provide comprehensive data on all parks and trails with
photographs, videos, maps, and statistics. Members are encouraged to submit their
discoveries and ride experiences. Park rangers can also update park
conditions with the latest closures, fire-danger warnings, etc.. |
Photo Gallery
In our photo
galleries, we cover almost every trail and
park we ride. During many of our rides, our
official photographers (or just some of the crew) will take pictures. We post these for
posterity. Members can quickly find any pictures that include them. What a
great way to impress friends and family. "Look honey, I told you I was riding
Crystal Cove last Saturday. That's the paramedics removing the handle bars from my
liver." |
Shopping and Classified Ads
At
Radless, we are capitalists at heart and therefore provide the means
for our members and anyone else to buy and sell in our Classified
Ads section.
 |
We also
sell our unique Radless "gear" or accessories (jerseys, T-shirts,
mugs, etc.) in our Shopping Section.
And we have a directory of local bike
shops.
